Spicy Fish fry is a simple and delicious way to prepare fish

Cooking Time: 10 to 12 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fish fillets / 3 pieces (such as tilapia, cod, or catfish)

For Marination:

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Coriander Leaves – 2 tblspn finely chopped
  • Lemon Juice – 1 tblspn
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup water

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil (or) olive oil(or) Coconut Oil  (or) sun flower oil – 4 to 5 tbl spn

Method:

  1. Clean fish pieces, make deep slashes in it.
  2. In a shallow dish, Mix all the ingredients for marination and add very little water and make it into a thick paste.
  3. Apply masala all over the fish, deep into the slits and slashes.
  4. Leave this to marinate for 30 mins.
  5. Heat a few inches of oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Carefully add the Marinated fish fillets to the hot oil and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and flakes easily with a fork. Now the fish is done.
  7. Remove the fish from the oil and drain them on a paper towel.
  8. Serve the fish hot with your choice of dipping sauces or tartar sauce or lemon wedges.
